Program Manager - L.E.A.D. (Leadership Exploration and Development) Institute
Affirmations, metro Detroit's community center for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) people and their allies seeks a Program Manager – L.E.A.D. Institute.
Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Program Manager – L.E.A.D Institute oversees the planning and operations of the Affirmations' L.E.A.D. Institute program. In this role, the Program Manager will be expected to develop and coordinate all program activities, prepare and program maintain materials, manage the program budget, and maintain accurate program records and files.
Create, implement and oversee Fellow and Mentor application and selection process;
Create and implement Fellow and Mentor program guidelines and monitor adherence to performance expectations;
Coordinate, implement and oversee leadership development program activities for 15 Leadership Fellows:
Organize and facilitate a variety of group workshops, guest speakers, panelist sessions;
Communicate regularly with and provide timely updates to Affirmations Executive Director, Fellows, Mentors and leadership educational trainer, program partners;
Plan, coordinate and execute program special events (Welcome Ceremony, Opening Retreat, Graduation Ceremony);
Monitor and support progress towards program outcomes and record data on Fellow attendance, completion of program activities, mentoring interactions, etc.;
Provide leadership and oversight in program-wide efforts such as outreach & recruitment, budgeting and building community partnerships.
A bachelor's degree (or equivalent relevant experience).
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Strong communication and group facilitation skills
Demonstrated competence in coordinating program calendars, timelines and activities;
Demonstrated competence in special events planning;
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
Available to work evenings and some weekends
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Google; ability to quickly learn other computer programs.
