Affirmations is currently hiring for the following positions: 


 

Director of Development

General Description:

Reporting to – and in partnership with the Executive Director (ED), the Development Director (DD) will lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive and strategic fund development program that results in the securing of funding in support of the center’s programs and services. This position is responsible for the direct supervision of staff and is a member of the Leadership Team.  

Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred  

 Minimum of three (3) years development experience and one (1) one year supervisory experience

 Proven track record in the cultivation, solicitation and closing of individual, corporate and foundation gifts

 Superior written, verbal, and electronic communication skills 

 Ability to develop and manage budgets   

 Available to work evenings and some weekends

 Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines 

 Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team

 Ability to perform under pressure and within tight deadlines.

 Strong team leadership and staff supervisory skills ·        

 Excellent and effective public speaking skills.

 Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to quickly learn other computer programs

 Competence in working non-judgmentally with diverse populations; strong commitment to diversity and inclusion 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 Undertake a strategic approach in the development and implementation of the center’s annual development plan

 Monitor and forecast annual, quarterly and monthly successful proposal submissions; report on funding partner renewal, acquisition, growth and increase in contributed revenues and expense management

 Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations 

 Cultivate and steward ongoing relationships with major donors

 Manage the center’s donor platform and work with staff regarding gift processing and data entry 

 Monitor fulfillment of funding partner benefits/recognition

 Serve as a member of the center’s senior management team

 Serve as staff liaison to the fund development committee comprised of both board, staff and community members

 Oversee the center’s fundraising special events   

 Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

Provide direct supervision to employees and interns in the Development Department. Responsibilities include being part of the interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  

Additional Requirements:

 Ability to work effectively with volunteers, staff and external contacts to build and maintain effective teams and community relationships

 Ability to travel as needed to perform job duties.

 Possess high level of integrity, diplomacy and initiative

  Exhibit commitment to professional conduct and ethics

 Ability to lift, carry and transport materials

 Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve

 Ability to operate designated equipment

Classification Status:  Full-Time, 40 Hours per week, Exempt position

 


 

Office and Facilities Coordinator

General Description:

The Office and Facility Coordinator will provide various supports around facility needs and is also responsible to provide administrative support to the Executive Director and other Directors as needed and assigned.  

 

Qualifications:

 High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 Superior written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.

 Available to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

 Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

 Ability to perform under pressure and within tight deadlines.

 Manages contacts database (i.e. data entry, income processing, acknowledgments and reports), ensuring that donor and center user information are current and accurate. 

  Extracts, analyzes, and formulates plans for the appropriate use of database information.

 Ensure proper distribution of all incoming mail.

 Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.

 Proficient in Microsoft Office and email &calendar software; ability to quickly learn other computer programs.    

 Competence in working non-judgmentally with diverse populations; strong commitment to diversity and inclusion 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 Ensure that all areas of the Affirmations building are clean and orderly.

 Assist Center visitors with any room usage needs.

 Report defects, damages, and malfunctions of any kind to management with plans of rectification.

 Maintain safety in all center spaces.

 Serves as the primary liaison with various vendors to ensure efficiency in their delivery of services to Affirmations.

 Ensure timely and complete set up and tear down of rooms for various activities within the building.

 Ensure timely ordering of equipment (as needed), office and cleaning supplies while maintain accurate inventories 

 Assist Community Resources Manager in providing adequate training to all volunteers as needed.

 Fulfill other responsibilities as deemed necessary.
