Affirmations’ Counseling Services
Please note that all counseling intakes will be waitlisted until early fall of 2021.
Through individual and couples counseling, Affirmations offers support during difficult phases of life and helps individuals and couples explore important issues such as healthy relationships, sexual orientation, gender identity, self-esteem, confidence, and personal growth. We offer LGBTQ-affirming counseling services in a safe and welcoming environment for people of all cultures, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and gender identities. We work with individuals and couples in southeast Michigan. Affirmations counseling services can assist adults age 18 and over. Sliding fee scale and some insurance accepted. The Center for Relationship & Sexual Health (CRSH) is dedicated to improving the lives of clients through counseling & therapy services. CRSH offers individual, couples, and group therapy, along with sexual well-being counseling and more. CRSH is an LGBTQ+-owned and affirming practice.

Radical Well-Being Center
Radical Well-Being Center offers psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families, group therapy, massage, acupuncture, reiki and decolonized healing and energy work, nutrition counseling from a non-diet/Health at Every Size/intuitive eating perspective, educational workshops, and community events. Our therapists are trauma-informed and work from a social justice and harm reduction perspective.
Because high-quality mental health and physical wellness services have been historically inaccessible to Black people, LGBTQIA people, non-Black people of color, people with disabilities, and people in polyamorous or non-traditional relationships, Radical Well-Being Center seeks to include those who have been excluded from these services with a focus on accessibility and representation.

The Trevor Project
A national 24-hour, toll free confidential suicide hotline for LGBTQ youth.
Common Ground is dedicated to helping people move from crisis to hope, with services ranging from a crisis line to inpatient crisis services in Oakland County.

Affirmations’ Testing Services
Affirmations, in partnership with area organizations, provides HIV testing several times per week and monthly full-panel STD/STI testing. Please click here for information on testing times and appointments. Free condoms, lube, & health education resources are also available.
Matrix Human Services
Detroit-based Matrix Human Services is a 114-year-old, 501(c) (3), social services organization committed to helping children, teens, adults, and seniors reach self-sufficiency through offering positive hand-up life experiences. Matrix offers essential needs, education, and supportive services that defuse crises, treat individuals and family problems, prevent abuse and neglect.

The Health Division’s HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Program provides confidential, anonymous counseling and testing, referral services, and education. Rapid HIV testing is available.
W’Sup (Wayne State University Prevention Team)
W’Sup is dedicated to providing quality sexual health services to youth (ages 13-24) and young adults (ages 25-29) in the Detroit metropolitan area. W’Sup provides outreach, education, testing, and referrals for young folks in Metro Detroit, along with support and discussion groups and tobacco cessation.

Transgender Life Support is a group that meets on a weekly basis every Tuesday from 7 pm – 9 pm. Anyone who is transitioning, questioning or a supportive ally is welcome to join the group.

Transcend the Binary
Transcend the Binary is a team of incredibly passionate, and talented individuals who come from many different backgrounds, disciplines, and perspectives. Transcend the Binary is committed to serving the transgender and gender non-conforming community with the superior quality of peer-led services.
Transcend the Binary provides a wide range of services including referrals to affirming practitioners, peer counseling, resources, hormone education, fitness & nutrition services, and much more.
Transgender Michigan’s primary mission is to provide advocacy, support and education while serving to create coalitions in the state of Michigan to unify and empower transgender and gender non-conformist communities. Transgender Michigan provides a helpline, affirming resource guide, pride events, and more.
Gender-Identity Network Alliance (GNA)
GNA is committed to the inclusion and empowerment of non-gender-conforming people, communities, advocates, and allies. To achieve that goal, GNA provides positivity-driven, non-judgmental education and programs. These programs are designed to foster the creation (and expansion) of connections, visibility, and self-growth within all non-gender-conforming communities and the greater human communities in which we live.
RAD Remedy’s mission is to connect trans, gender non-conforming, intersex, and queer folks to accurate, safe, respectful, and comprehensive care in order to improve individual and community health. RAD Remedy has a provider search engine that allows folks to search by location and healthcare approach.

The Ruth Ellis Health & Wellness Center provides general healthcare services along with transition-related health services to youth and young adults, as well as integrated behavioral health services. The Ruth Ellis Health & Wellness Center is in partnership with the Henry Ford Health System and the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network.
