Summer Arts and Crafts Bazaar: CALL FOR VENDORS

XTLyouth Are you interested in buying a table at the Arts and Crafts Bazaar? For a vendor fee of $50, you can sell your arts and crafts inside our community center on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Youth Prom '17

XTLyouthJoin us on June 3, 2017, as we travel to Galaxy Affirmations, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The event is free for ages 13-20. Dance the night away to DJ Tone and enjoy free snacks including popcorn, slushies, cotton candy, and nachos. Raffle prizes will be awarded for the crowd voted prom court! Come in costume or come as you are for an evening of intergalactic enjoyment! Thank you to Blue Cross Complete of Michigan and Genisys Credit Union for sponsoring this event!

Cross the Line (XTL) Youth Workforce Development Program

XTLyouthA 16-week program designed to empower LGBTQ+ youth in the metro Detroit area with the soft and hard skills necessary for successful workforce navigation. Utilizing theoretical and practical application, the program provides interactive training and on-the-job training. During the program pilot period, XTL Youth Workforce Development Program will serve up to 15 metro Detroit youth ages 13-24.

This program began on April 5th, 2017.

Cross the Line (XTL) Youth Leadership Development

XTLyouthA 16-week program designed to empower up to 40 LGBTQ+ youth ages 13-20 with leadership skills particularly focusing on issues surrounding LGBTQ+ youth peers. Leadership skills utilized from curricula that focuses on understanding power and privilege, LGBTQ+ 101, facilitation skills, presentation skills, creative advocacy approaches, mentorship, community engagement, and social risks prevention such as bullying, HIV/STI, domestic violence and sexual assault.

The program began on January 31st, 2017.

Carl Rippberger Youth Drop-in Center

The Carl Rippberger Youth Drop-In Center provides a safe place for youth to engage their peers for networking, fun, and learning. The Center is open Fridays and Saturdays, 4pm-9pm for youth, between the ages and 13 and 20 (adults are not allowed in the space unless they are trained adult allies (volunteers). This Center is equipped with an XBOX 360 and assorted games, pool table, board games, WIFI, Netflix, and much more. The Center also features movie and game nights and youth-led discussion groups.
