XTLyouthThe Recess Cafe is open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Stop by and meet new friends in our safe and LGBTQ+ friendly space where snacks, games, and free wi-fi are available.

Youth Drop-In Dinner

Are you between the ages of 13 to 20? Stop by in our Youth Drop-In Center for a Qdoba dinner on Friday, June 23rd, at 4:30 p.m.. First come first serve! Thank you to Sapient Razorfish for hosting this dinner for our youth!







Cross the Line (XTL) Youth Workforce Development Program

XTLyouthA 16-week program designed to empower LGBTQ+ youth in the metro Detroit area with the soft and hard skills necessary for successful workforce navigation. Utilizing theoretical and practical application, this program provides interactive training and on-the-job training. During the program period, XTL Youth Workforce Development Program will serve up to 15 metro Detroit youth ages 13-24.


Cross the Line (XTL) Youth Leadership Development

XTLyouthA 16-week program designed to empower up to 40 LGBTQ+ youth, ages 13-20 with leadership skills particularly focusing on issues surrounding LGBTQ+ youth. Leadership skills utilized from curricula that focuses on understanding power and privilege, LGBTQ+ 101, facilitation skills, presentation skills, creative advocacy approaches, mentorship, community engagement, and social risks prevention such as bullying, HIV/STI, domestic violence and sexual assault. We work with our BAC (Business Advisory Counsel) to guide and mentor the youth through the program.

This program will begin on August 23rd, 2017.


Carl Rippberger Youth Drop-in Center

The Carl Rippberger Youth Drop-In Center provides a safe place for youth to engage their peers for networking, fun, and learning. The Center is open Fridays and Saturdays, 4pm-9pm for youth, between the ages of 13 and 20 (adults are not allowed in the space unless they are trained adult allies (volunteers). This Center is equipped with an XBOX 360 and assorted games, pool table, board games, WIFI, Netflix, and much more. The Center also features movie and game nights and youth-led discussion groups.
