Affirmations’ mission is to provide a welcoming space where people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and cultures can find support and unconditional acceptance, and where they can learn, grow, socialize, and feel safe. These Community Agreements ensure we create a space in alignment with that mission.
These Community Agreements outline our expectations for everyone, whether a visitor, client, volunteer, or employee. These agreements not only apply in our building, but also in virtual meetings or off-site center events.
We agree to not engage in the following behaviors:
- Violent behavior, harassment, or inappropriate touching
- Use of discriminatory or derogatory language
- Theft, vandalism, littering
- Possession, use, or storage of any weapons
- Possession, use, sale, or storage of illegal/illicit drugs
- Public intoxication, smoking, or vaping
- Use of restrooms that interferes with other’s ability to use them
- Photographing/video/recording of others without their consent (outside of an event)
- Being unclothed (shoes/socks/shirt/pants/etc)
- Solicitation, including but not limited to financial, political, sexual, and other
- Use of audio that disrupts others
Youth ages 12 or under must be accompanied by a guardian unless attending a program or service.
Center use/availability:
Main Floor – open to all during center hours
Lower Level – restricted, unless attending a group, event or appointment
Upper Level – open to all until 6pm, unless attending a group, event, or appointment
If you see community members in violation of this agreement, please inform a center volunteer or staff member. Do not intervene yourself.
Failure to abide by the above agreement can result in revoked access to the building and/or its services.
