About The Role
The Events Coordinator provides onsite operational oversight for Affirmations’ adult series and events. This role is responsible for designing, facilitating, evaluating, and continuously improving inclusive activities that expand the engagement opportunities for members of the LGBTQ+ Community
The Events Coordinator leads community-centered event production, oversees outreach efforts and establishes systems that promote a sustainable 3rd place. Within the Development Department, this role supports the fundraising strategy through mission-aligned events, donor engagement opportunities, rental engagements, co-locating organizational collaboration, and community benefit initiatives.
This position exercises cross-departmental collaboration and leadership in both planning and execution, and requires rotating/assigned evening and weekend hours. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hourly range of $23.00 – 25.00.

About You
- A bachelor’s degree in Project Management (or equivalent relevant experience).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Strong enthusiasm & collaboration skills relevant to managing a small team of volunteers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong group facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to energetically engage with the community.
- Demonstrated competence in event development and management.
- Flexibility to pivot for unanticipated needs, adapt to new situations and environments, and remain calm and graceful under pressure while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Available to work evenings and weekends.
- Proficient in Google-Suite, & possesses the ability to learn other computer programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience in program management or a degree in nonprofit management, marketing, development, communications,event planning, community engagement, or related fields.
- A successful track record in applying for and closing sponsorship agreements
- Experience in event management, departmental leadership, and/or nonprofit operations.
- Experience collaborating with programming on revenue-generating events or donor engagement strategies.
