About the Evening
Welcome to the second annual Velvet Assembly, Affirmations’ anchor fundraiser and an evening built around mutual support of LGBTQ+ programming and relationship building.

This year’s Assembly features a night of entertainment from local velvet burlesque performers and live music with poetry and impact storytelling woven throughout. As always, the evening is intentionally intimate, limited to 75 guests, so every conversation and connection counts.

Dinner Includes: Family-style classics, table wine, and a dessert station. Open Bar.

Jezebel Jones

Jezebel Jones is The mystic Motown maverick who moves with intention both on and off stage. Burlesque is more than just performance to them, it is the way they’ve reclaimed their own sacred sensuality, it is resistance, it is community building, it is healing. 

Mariana Contreras

Mariana Contreras began her journey in Ypsilanti’s Tarot and Tease Burlesque show and now her talent knows no borders. She goes by the Belting Burlesque Beauty because not only does she give you the vocal stylings, but the sensual stylings of her figure. As a singer, dancer, and seamstress, everything she brings to the stage is either from her heart or her hands; a story teller from head to toe while being a little cheeky, well a lot of cheeky!
