Prom ReDeux is Affirmations’ annual queer prom for adults — a glamorous night of dancing, celebration, and community in Michigan’s Gayborhood! Each year we transform the entire center into a prom-night fantasy filled with music, laughter, and people showing up exactly as themselves.
Whether you missed prom entirely, went but couldn’t fully be yourself, or simply believe in the power of a dramatic outfit and a packed dance floor, Prom ReDeux exists for exactly this moment.
Proceeds from Prom ReDeux support LGBTQ+ programming at Affirmations and help sustain the work we do for the LGBTQ+ community of Southeast Michigan and beyond.

No prior prom experience required. Dress however makes you feel most iconic.
VIP Experience– $108
VIP guests begin the night with a throwback pre-prom dinner at Pop’s Italian.
Arrive to make time for parking between 6:00- 6:30PM
Dinner Starts 6:30- 8:00PM
All guests receive a complementary Signature Cocktail/Mocktail and Corsage.
Dinner Menu
Salad: Tossed Italian
Entree: Chicken Piccata (lemon, caper, artichoke, white wine, garlic)
Pasta Entree: Pasta Primavera (rigatoni, tomato basil sauce, asparagus, peas, zucchini, spinach)
Sides: Green beans with garlic butter, garlic mashed potatoes, garlic brushed rolls
Dessert: Assorted baked goods like cannolis and chocolate covered strawberries
Included Beverages: Red & white wine, coffee, tea, lemonade, iced tea & soft drinks

✨ Is this event 21+?
Yes. Prom ReDeux is a 21+ event. Please bring a valid ID with you to the event.
✨ Do I need a date?
Come solo, with a date, or with your whole chosen family. We are gloriously non-traditional.
✨ What should I wear?
Short answer: whatever makes you feel most iconic. Most people lean somewhere between cocktail attire, suits, dresses, glam, sparkle, drama, and “I’ve been waiting for an excuse to wear this.” But truly — there’s no dress code. Wear jeans. Show up however feels good.
✨ Is this a dance party or more of a social event?
Yes! There will be a DJ and a very real dance floor, but also plenty of space to mingle, chat, catch up, maybe flirt, laugh, and definitely compliment each other’s outfits. Move at your own speed.
✨ What’s the crowd like?
Queer. Warm. Friendly. Slightly sparkly. Expect a mix of longtime Affirmations community members, first-timers to our center, couples, friend groups, introverts, extroverts, dancers, wallflowers, and everything in between. We want the prom energy without the high school cliques.
✨ Will there be seating / quieter space?
Yes. Seating will be available, and a chill / low sensory space will be open for anyone who needs a breather from the dance floor. Take breaks. Hydrate. Socialize.
✨ Can I just come to hang out and not dance?
Completely valid prom strategy. There is no participation requirement beyond existing in the space and having whatever version of fun feels natural for you. Wallflower rights are protected here.
