Affirmations provides judgment-free, no-cost resources to promote health among the LGBTQ+ community in metro Detroit. Our affirming Testing and Prevention Services encourages health equity and reduces stigma.
Testing and Prevention Services are crucial in promoting health and wellness in the queer community, fostering informed and safe practices, and reducing the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and other health complications. Comprehensive health education and resources empower individuals to make healthier choices and advocate for their unique needs.
Free STI & HIV Testing: Upcoming Events
Affirmations partners with several health organizations to provide free STI testing. We test for HIV, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Tricomoniasis, Mycoplasma genitalium, Syphilis, and Hep C. Stay proactive and informed about your sexual health. Clinics are scheduled about one month in advance and can change day of. Please check the calendar day-of to ensure that the pop-up clinic is still scheduled.
Crafts & Conversation: Adult Drop-in (45+)
A fun and creative space where LGBTQ+ adults ages 45+ can enjoy art, crafts, and conversation while building community.
Vaccine and STI Testing
Free, confidential STI testing and select vaccines at Affirmations. Appointments and walk-ins available. Open to all. Availability varies. Call 248-858-1280 for details.

Confidential and Judgment Free
Free condoms and lube are located near the front entrance on 9 Mile Road in our cyber cafe, next to our free Narcan vending machine. Walk in anytime during open hours and help yourself.
