Since 1989 we have remained committed to fostering community involvement through an active volunteer program. Volunteer opportunities span a variety of programs and roles like Front Desk Volunteers, Group Facilitators, and Youth Advocates. Volunteers are also vital to the success of our events such as Pride, Big Bash, and Prom ReDeux. Only through the literal thousands of volunteer hours donated each year is Affirmations able to offer the programs and services it does to the local LGBTQ+ community on a daily basis.

Our volunteer application intake period will close on Monday, December 9.
You will receive an email by no later than two weeks after your application submission, or sooner as the applications are evaluated in accordance to when they were received.
Before you proceed with your application:
We would like you let you know that your help is most need at the Welcome & Resource Desk. There are three desk shifts in which you can choose from during our operating hours (Monday-Saturday 10AM-9PM):
- 10am – 2pm
- 2pm – 6pm
- 6pm – 9pm
Once you have submitted your application:
- Please allow up to two weeks for updates on your submission
- Background checks are performed during this period
- RSVP to one of our scheduled volunteer orientation dates;

- Wednesday, December 11 from 6-9 PM
- You will receive a link to do this once your background check is completed

What to expect during onboarding:
Mandatory in-person orientation sessions are scheduled quarterly or on an as needed basis. Please plan ahead to ensure attendance. Refreshments will be provided.

Community Service Volunteers
We also offer opportunities to fulfill any type of Community Service hours (court appointed, work, school, etc).
CSV applications are accepted on a rolling basis and can be submitted at any time.
